Diving
The Maldives is one of the best places in the world to dive. South Ari atoll is the only atoll in the Maldives where whale sharks are spotted throughout the year. If diving with whale sharks in the Maldives is on your bucket list, don’t wait any longer!
Snorkeling
South Ari Atoll is a unique spot, sporting some of the highest wild encounters of whale sharks in the world! On a clear and calm day, it’s not uncommon to spot multiple whale sharks.
With snorkeling gear, you’ll be able to swim alongside these giants with ease.
Sandbank Picnic
Escape the island and enjoy the serenity and solitude of a sandbank for a few hours. Take out some snorkeling gear to explore the surrounding reef and have some refreshments in a beanbag under the umbrella.
Optional: Take away one of our Bliss-made picnic basket for a mouth watering lunch!
Cooking Class
Love to dive a bit more into culture and local life? How better to do this than to cook with the local inhabitants of Dhigurah! We will organize a private cooking class for you with one of Dhigurah’s women and will translate for you. The actual cooking is done on the beach or on our rooftop. You’ll be able to pick the dishes you would like to learn, or let the ‘chef’ decide what’s on the menu for the day!
Celebrating love in Paradise
Dreaming of a wedding on a local island in the Maldives or to renew your vows? We can help you celebrate this special moment! Although we cannot arrange a legal wedding ceremony in the Maldives, we can assist in celebrating (the renewal of) wedding vows. We are flexible and can arrange your special moment as per your wishes.
Private Beach Dinner
Around 7:00 PM, you will have a private romantic dinner on the beach (if the weather permits) – the chef will be preparing an exclusive a la carte meal. That sums up our typical ceremony. We are of course happy to add any items to accommodate special requests. If you have something in mind, please don’t hesitate to ask and we’ll do our best to see if it can be done.

Fishing & Barbecue
For centuries, the Maldives was primarily a nation of fishermen. Experience the traditional fishing lifestyle by joining the inhabitants of Dhigurah on their fishing adventures. Catch your own snapper, barracuda, grouper or other fish and have it barbecued on our rooftop or the beach!
Sup & Canoe
Be one with the sea and explore the shoreline on a canoe or a standup paddleboard. You can make your way to the tip of the island or to a popular Manta Ray spot that’s nearby the Dhigurah shoreline. Feel free to pack your snorkeling gear and make your own adventure. Word of caution: Balancing on a standup paddle board may look easier than it is!
Restaurants & Bars
We hope all the splashing in the water has worked up your appetite as we love making (and of course, eating) delicious food in our restaurant on Dhigurah: Hermit’s. In our kitchen, we strive to use local products whenever possible. On Dhigurah, we locally grow coconut, breadfruit, screw pine and chili. You’re right! The seafood is fresh from the ocean. If it is not readily available in the region, we source it responsibly. Don’t hesitate to ask us where your food is from. Our restaurant’s menu strikes a balance between local dishes for your culinary adventures and comfort food to get you ready for your next adventure. We strive to keep our menu simple and delicious. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance so that we prepare an alternative meal for you. Please, keep in mind that in the Maldives, pork and alcoholic drinks cannot be consumed on any non-resort/local island.
Rooftop Juice Bar
Enjoy fresh fruit juices and sodas while enjoying a panoramic view on Bliss’ rooftop. Take a seat at the bar, lounge couch or one of the bean bags. Read a book and tan in our lounge chairs on the sun deck and, when it’s too hot, dip in one of the jacuzzis!

There are several ways we may arrange your transportation from Velana International Airport:
1) shared speedboat transfer – 2 scheduled speedboats a day, one at 11am, the next one at 4pm (10am & 3pm on Fridays): with approximate travel time of 2 hours; cost is USD65 per person/way (USD50/way for kids below the age of 12)*
2) domestic flight from Velana International Airport to Maamigili (20 minutes), followed by a 20 minutes boat ride from Maamigili to Dhigurah; cost is USD175 per person/way (USD85/way for kids below the age of 12)*
3) shared sea plane transfer from Velana International Airport to Lux Maldives (30 minutes), followed by a 5 minutes boat ride: cost is USD250 per person/way(USD160/way for kids under the age of 12)*

We spot Whale sharks throughout the year. It depends a bit on the weather how easy they are to spot from the boat. The calmer the sea and sunnier it is, the easier it is to see them.
Other sharks are always around as well. Other (harmless) sharks we frequently see are: Black tip, White tip and Grey reef sharks. You’ll see nurse sharks more on dives than during snorkeling. Occasionally a different shark species visits, after which the snorkel/dive community goes out of their way to find them.
It’s possible to spot Mantas throughout the year when diving. There is a cleaning station nearby that is frequently visited. For snorkeling there are some months with a lot of activity where the manta rays can also be spotted in our lagoon. Last year this was from January to about April, and it might repeat itself before the end of the year. However, it is harder to predict
Pack lightly. The Maldives has a hot tropical climate, with temperatures generally hovering around 30°C year-round, with night-time lows sometimes of 24°C.
We recommend booking experiences, dining venues, massages, or spa treatments in advance. either before arrival at the resort or as soon as you arrive.
